T. Trent Dang

Director of Marketing & Communications

T. Trent Dang is the Director of Marketing and Communications for the New Orleans Downtown Development District, where he oversees all of the organization’s MarCom channels. Trent brings over 20 years of tourism and hospitality experience to the district. He has managed all aspects of modern marketing in his career while also previously holding roles in information technology and operations management.

Regionally, he has previously led the marketing departments of the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots and Hollywood Casino Bay St. Louis; and was also a member of the re-opening team at the Isle of Capri Casino Biloxi post-Hurricane Katrina. His marketing departments have consistently facilitated record-breaking revenue, profitability, and attendance records.

Trent studied Music Performance at the University of Oklahoma before completing his bachelor’s degree in Social Science and Music at Loyola University New Orleans. He received his master’s degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he regularly teaches in their Executive Master’s degree in Hospitality Administration program. He is currently completing a Ph.D. in Urban Studies at the University of New Orleans.

Civically, he currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Loyola University New Orleans Alumni Association and has previously held board positions with the New Orleans Concert Band, Hancock County Tourism Commission, Hancock County Development Commission, and the Futuro Academy Public Charter School.

A native Louisianian, Trent has called New Orleans home for over 20 years and is passionate about its food, beverage, music, festival, and parade culture as well as its beloved New Orleans Saints, where he previously played on their drumline.
