Clean Team

Downtown is one of the cleanest neighborhoods in New Orleans thanks to the DDD Clean Team. Clean Teams use traditional pans and brooms, as well as automated vacuum machines, for litter abatement, while pressure-washing trucks spray the sidewalks for a deeper cleaning. A dedicated graffiti team removes graffiti from public spaces, and crews also paint trash cans and light poles when necessary. We go the extra mile to make sure that Downtown New Orleans is clean, fresh and comfortable for the residents who live and work here.

DDD Street Banner Program

Locations

Banners currently grace poles on Canal Street, Poydras Street, Convention Center Boulevard, Loyola Avenue, as well as areas of the Arts District and the Medical District.

Cost

The cost to install banners range from $9–$12 per pole depending on the number of banners installed. Non-profits are eligible for a discounted rate. The cost of banner fabrication is to be negotiated between the fabricator and the sponsor.

Banner Construction and Installation

The DDD requires that all banners be constructed, installed and removed by the DDD’s Approved Contractors.

DDD Sidewalk Enhancement Program

The Downtown Development District implemented the Sidewalk Enhancement Program to assist property owners in improving the quality of sidewalks in front of their properties.

Funding Available

The DDD will match up to 50% of the cost of sidewalks conditional on the number of applications and budget allocation for each year.

Process & Requirements

In order to be eligible to receive a grant, the DDD requires that a completed application and permits from the Department of Public Works be received and approved prior to the commencement of any work.

Sidewalk Litter Ordinance

Clean sidewalks are essential to maintaining a safe environment where people want to live, work, and visit. With that in mind, we send out DDD maintenance crews every day to hit the streets and keep Downtown looking its best. They work 24/7, providing enhanced services such as litter removal, pressure washing, graffiti removal and other cleaning services as needed.

We invite our Downtown constituents to assist and partner with us in our cleaning efforts by adhering to sidewalk litter ordinances. You can also help us by discouraging delivery trucks and others from driving over and/or parking on our sidewalks. We look forward to working together to ensure that Downtown is the cleanest and safest place in New Orleans.
