Tonight, come and kickoff the start of the holiday season with the annual Canal Street Lighting Ceremony from 5-7 p.m. Join the DDD and Astor Crowne Plaza as we “flip the switch” turning on more than one million twinkling lights, brightening the historic street for holiday shoppers, diners, visitors and revelers.
The Outlet Collection at the Riverwalk will join in the celebration with the lighting of their 50 feet tall Christmas tree. And, the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center will flip the switch with us turning on the lights along Convention Center Boulevard.
Every year, Canal Street from the Mississippi River to Elks Place is covered with beautiful holiday lights, wreaths, ribbons and garland. And now there will be a stunning display of 2 miles of continuous, twinkling holiday lights.
Bring the whole family Downtown to witness the majesty of the holiday season while caroling with the Voices of Peter Claver and decorating holiday cookies.
