Downtown Development District Launches Summer Marketing Campaign to Drive Foot Traffic and Support Local Businesses

NEW ORLEANS — The Downtown Development District (DDD) is launching a new summer marketing campaign, Summer Starts Downtown, designed to increase foot traffic, support local businesses, and showcase Downtown New Orleans as the region’s destination for dining, entertainment, shopping, hospitality, and experiences throughout the summer season.

Launching June 1st, the campaign will feature more than 50 participating Downtown businesses offering seasonal deals, specials, promotions, and experiences to attract both locals and visitors during the summer months.

The initiative is backed by a robust paid marketing strategy funded and coordinated by DDD, including digital advertising, social media campaigns, influencer partnerships, billboards, print advertising, and radio ads designed to amplify visibility for participating businesses and encourage audiences across the Greater New Orleans region to spend time Downtown.

“Summer can be a challenging season for many local businesses, particularly in the hospitality and retail sectors,” said Seth Knudsen, President and CEO of DDD. “This campaign is about creating momentum for Downtown while giving businesses access to large-scale marketing resources and exposure that many small businesses may not otherwise have on their own.”

The campaign highlights the diversity of experiences available Downtown — from restaurants and bars to museums, entertainment, hotels, retailers, wellness services, and family-friendly attractions — reinforcing Downtown New Orleans as an accessible, vibrant destination for every type of outing.
