The Louisiana Department of Transportation is gearing up for two projects that will have significant impacts to drivers commuting to and from the CBD area.
- $3.6M – US 90 Ramp Improvements – This project will include construction of an extension to the Claiborne On-Ramp onto US 90 and the restriping of US 90 from two lanes to three lanes. The project is designed to help alleviate congestion on the roadway. The project will start in February 2015 and is expected to be completed by summer 2015.
- $1.8M – New Orleans Hospitality Zone (U.S. 90 Ramp Meters) – This project will add ramp metering on U.S. 90 from Tchoupitoulas to Claiborne Avenue to relieve congestion, and improve safety and travel times. The project is expected to start in April 2015 and be finished by winter 2015.
