Mark Castillon

Chief of Public Safety & Field Operations

Born and raised in the vibrant culture of New Orleans, and a graduate of De La Salle high school, Mark Castillon cultivated a deep appreciation for community and service, alongside a passion for urban development and local culture. After the events of 9/11, Mark embarked on a military career in the United States Army and Army National Guard, serving for two decades. His expertise in crisis management, logistics, and strategic operations includes missions in Iraq and Kuwait, as well as establishing the first ROTC program in Belize.

Mark assumed roles of increasing responsibility, overseeing combat units, recruiting, human resources, logistics, and emergency management operations. Throughout his service, he demonstrated competence and integrity, spearheading transformative initiatives that drove organizational excellence. His dedication to service and strategic planning earned him numerous accolades.

Transitioning to civilian life, Mark continued to demonstrate his leadership capabilities at Ochsner Medical Center. His recent experience in emergency management and logistics showcased his reliability and strategic vision,  further solidifying his reputation as a dependable and effective leader.

At the core of Mark’s life is his family, exemplifying dedication, and mutual support. With his wife Lisa, they instill values of compassion and resilience in their children, Marley and Grant, while actively engaging in community service.

Beyond his professional and family commitments, Mark is a man of diverse interests, including music, sports, and fitness. As a former opera singer, he finds joy in music, supports his beloved New Orleans Saints, and actively participates in CrossFit Gris Gris, while also advocating for veteran mental health and due process initiatives.
