Angela Owczarek is a social worker who has provided street outreach services for the DDD since 2018 and who has provided services for individuals experiencing homelessness and houselessness since 2014.
In those years, Angela’s experiences have included working in drop-in centers and shelters, conducting research on New Orleans homelessness, contributing to national training materials on outreach best practices, and co-leading city efforts around increasing public benefits access for unhoused individuals with disabilities.
Angela graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Fordham University Honors Program with bachelor’s degrees in International Political Economies and in Theology and graduated as a HEALS Scholar with a Master of Social Work from the Southern University at New Orleans. Outside of work, Angela enjoys reading, bike riding, visual art, and imagining a New Orleans where everyone has housing.
