RUNNING OF THE SANTAS

Running of the Santas returns to Downtown New Orleans for a fifth year on Saturday, December 12 with thousands of participants dressed in festive costumes to celebrate the annual extravaganza. After half a decade, the Holiday “Fun Run” has quickly become one of the city’s largest, signature Christmastime events. This year’s holiday block party kicks off at 2 p.m. from the “South Pole” located at The Rusty Nail at 1100 Constance St. The crowd then embarks on a four block “Fun Run” at 5:45 p.m. to the “North Pole” at Generations Hall at 310 Andrew Higgins Drive.
The holiday tradition calls for participants to dress up in their most creative Christmas and holiday attire. Category 6 will rock the house from 6:30 – 8 p.m. immediately followed by the outlandish “Best Holiday Costume” contest. Music headliner Flow Tribe will close out the 2015 “Running of the Santas” as they take the stage from 8:30 – 10 p.m.
