Announces Semi-Finalists

Propeller: A Force for Social Innovation and the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority are excited to announce the five semi-finalists for PitchNOLA 2014: Lots of Progress, a competition to source community-driven solutions for the activation of vacant lots around the City. The competition event will take place on Tuesday, August 19 at Propeller, 4035 Washington Ave. Doors will open at 6:00PM and the event begins at 7:00PM.

PitchNOLA 2014: Lots of Progress features a $7,500 cash prize from Entergy, technical assistance from Propeller and the opportunity to lease to purchase one or more properties fromNORA. The first place winner receives $5,000, second place receives $2,000, and the winner of the audience can i buy valtrex over the counter favorite vote takes home $500. The five semi-finalist ideas include a dog park, a miniature golf course, a snowball stand, a popup produce stand and a pop-up community health center for the hearing-impaired. A panel of three distinguished judges will select the winners, including: Charles Rice, President & CEO Entergy New Orleans, Tara Hernandez, President JCH Development and Sean Meenan, Founder of Cafe Habana. The evening’s emcee is Camille Whitworth, co-anchor ofWDSU News weeknights.
