The City of New Orleans Health Department has issued a notice of noise variance to New Orleans residents and businesses in the Central Business District for Monday, August 29, 2016.
A construction company will conduct a large concrete pour that will exceed the ambient noise levels between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Monday for the Cambria Hotel & Suites project, which is located at 632 Tchoupitoulas St. The area is bounded by Tchoupitoulas Street, Girod Street, Commerce Street and Lafayette Street. Residents are advised to be patient and expect to hear construction-related noises outside of the normal hours outlined in the City’s noise ordinance.
Businesses or individuals without a proper permit are prohibited from exceeding ambient noise levels outside of the hours of 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. on weekends.
The Health Department is the City agency responsible for enforcing the noise ordinance, issuing noise variance permits and facilitating communication between the permit requestors and the local community.
