New Orleans Pelicans Basketball

Location Info

Smoothie King Center

Thu, Jan 01, 1970

The New Orleans Pelicans, formerly known as the New Orleans Hornets, were originally based in Charlotte, North Carolina from 1988 until 2002 when the Charlotte Hornets moved to New Orleans. The team held their first game in the Crescent City in October 2002 in the New Orleans Arena, now known as the Smoothie King Center, against the Utah Jazz. Ironically, the Jazz was New Orleans’ first NBA team which was based in New
Orleans from 1974 to 1979.

Tickets

Pelicans’ home games are played at the Smoothie King Center. Tickets are available through TicketMaster or at the box office on game nights. Come out and cheer for the home team or your OWN team if they happen to be in town when you are!
