The Magazine Place condos are located at the corner of Julia and Magazine in the middle of the New Orleans Warehouse District. The 57 unit condo conversion was converted in 2002 from rentals into condos. This was a 3 story sausage factory in its earlier days. Most all of the units were renovated by the developer at the time. Most of the units have original wood floors or were renovated with wood. They all have stackable washer/dryers, stainless steel appliances, new cabinets, marble bath units and upgrades to all the fixtures. There is a combination of one and two bedroom units. The one bedroom units range from 600 sq.ft. to 850 sq.ft. while the two bedrooms are between 1000 sq. and 1200sq. ft. The nicer units in the original building open to a courtyard and have exterior views of Magazine and Julia streets. Almost all of the units have parking that comes with the unit, some however do not. The parking is in the basement or adjoining lot.
The signature courtyard and fountain behind the iron gates leads to stairs and an elevator. The Magazine Place condos have a nice gym on the first floor and one of the nicest roof top areas in the New Orleans Warehouse District. The location is perfect for the second homers being 7 blocks from the French Quarter and right in the middle of the Arts District. The Children’s Museum, Gallery Row Condos, The Lofts are all within a block. The units are well maintained. Many of the two bedroom units are townhouse style built in the annex next to the original building.
