Illegally Parked Vehicles

The DDD Public Safety Rangers are assisting the City of New Orleans in issuing COURTESY NOTICE OF VIOLATIONS for illegally parked motorized vehicle on the pedestrian mall located on Commercial Place between St. Charles Ave. and Camp St. and sidewalks in Downtown. According to Sec. 154-923(a)(1) of the New Orleans Municipal Code. “(a) No person shall stop or park a vehicle or other conveyance, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the law or directions of a police officer or traffic-control device, at any of the following places: (1) On a sidewalk, except as otherwise permitted in this article”

Enforcement of Sec. 154-923(a)(1) will resume Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at which time citations will be issued to non-compliant motorized vehicles. In general, parking on a sidewalk is not permitted by City code.
