Hosted on Tuesday, May 5th by the Greater New Orleans Foundation, GiveNOLA Day is the community’s one-day, online giving event to inspire people to give generously to the nonprofit organizations that make our region a stronger and more thriving community for all. It’s our day to come together as one! Every dollar donated from midnight to midnight on May 5th will be increased with additional “lagniappe” dollars provided by the Greater New Orleans Foundation and our generous GiveNOLA Day sponsors. Last year, $2.25 million dollars was raised from 19,000+ donors around the nation. This year, the goal is to raise $3 million from 25,000+ donors!
Also, since GiveNOLA Day falls on Cinco De Mayo this year, the public is invited to a GiveNOLA Day Fiesta with music and entertainment at Lafayette Square between 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Come watch the leaderboard as millions of dollars are raised; give to your favorite charity at the Donation Station powered by Entergy; and enjoy Mexican food from Juan’s Flying Burrito benefitting GiveNOLA Day. During happy hour between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm, enjoy margaritas from Avion, Jose Cuervo, and Milagro tequilas or beer from Dos Equis – all sales will benefit the GiveNOLA Day Lagniappe Fund.
