On June 13 from 11am to 3pm, take time to gain an insider’s view of Picayune Place – our smallest local historic district, adjacent to the Canal Street historic district in Downtown New Orleans- and see firsthand its importance as a historically and architecturally significant residential neighborhood.
First, learn about Picayune Place with a presentation by Richard Campanella, a local celebrity and expert in the fields of history, architecture, and geography. Then, explore the neighborhood on foot with a walkable tour of five private homes in Picayune Place.
Tour Homeowners:
Jill Chance
Melissa A. Gibbs
Nancy Murray & Erik Schwarz

John Stephens & James Lestelle
This event is a broader continuation of the “Keep Canal Historic” campaign that seeks to advocate for appropriate development for the greater Canal corridor area in keeping with its historic integrity.
