Downtown Development District is pleased to present the Q2 2024 Market Report, which provides an updated assessment and analysis of the economic vitality of Downtown New Orleans.

Q2 2024 was an impactful time throughout the DDD, as beloved traditions and new developments highlighted the neighborhood’s significance as an ever-evolving cultural and economic hub. Popular events, like Jazz Fest and Essence Festival of Culture, continued to draw crowds and drive commerce. Meanwhile, fresh ventures out of the biotech and medical sectors signaled the growth of a burgeoning field Downtown; Q2 successes included the award of ground-breaking patents at LSU Health and Tulane University, as well as the announced launch of Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine (XOCOM).

The neighborhood’s hospitality industry also celebrated several victories throughout the quarter, welcoming establishments like Morrow Steak, Tacos del Cartel, Headquarters by Nice Guys, and Common House to its already world-class repertoire. Additionally, Downtown New Orleans became the first-ever North American host to the globally renowned Bocuse d’Or qualifying round, which brought the world’s top bakers and chefs to the District for days of fierce competition at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

DDD was proud to share in all these strides, successes, and celebrations throughout the second quarter. Read more about them, their impact, and the future of Downtown in the Q2 2024 Market Report HERE.
