Recently, the DDD lost a beloved member of the team. DDD Public Safety Ranger Captain Patrick Holden passed away Wednesday. Patrick has been a valued member of the DDD team and served the DDD and the people of Downtown since 2016, rising to the level of Captain just six months after he started as a Ranger.
In 2019, Patrick was featured in our DDD At Your Service segment in the November 1 issue of our newsletter. He described his favorite Ranger activities as assisting visitors and helping those suffering from mental illness and addiction to get the help they need. Many of you knew him by name, others by his boundless spirit and zest for life. Patrick suffered a stroke several weeks ago and passed away Wednesday evening at Tulane University Medical Center. He is survived by his daughter, mother, two sisters and a brother.
Patrick Holden will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
