On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, the Downtown Development District (DDD) of the City of New Orleans President & CEO, Davon Barbour, announced that he will leave the organization at the end of February 2025 after having served just over three years in the role.
“I am so proud of the collective accomplishments achieved by the incredible public servants of DDD,” said DDD President & CEO Davon Barbour. “With generous support from partner organizations, area nonprofits, and from local and state officials, DDD continues to move the needle, fostering a world-class Downtown.”
Since joining on as leader of the DDD, Davon reinvigorated partnerships resulting in increased external funding to improve quality of life within the district for parks & open spaces, public safety, and beautification. DDD also partnered with the City of New Orleans and the New Orleans Community Support Foundation to both fund and oversee the successful adoption of the BioDistrict Strategic Plan.
“Davon’s tenure has been marked by significant accomplishments and unwavering dedication to our mission of fostering economic growth and enhancing the quality of life in downtown New Orleans. His passion for this work has strengthened the DDD and made it a better organization. We deeply appreciate his leadership and the many contributions he has made during his time with us. As we move forward, the Board
of Commissioners is committed to ensuring a seamless transition and maintaining the momentum of our initiatives. Additional next steps and leadership plans will be announced in the coming weeks,” shared Chris R. Ross, DDD Board Chair.
