Piazza d’Italia

The Piazza d’Italia is a unique open space located behind the American Italian Cultural Center and dedicated to the Italian American community of New Orleans.

Designed in 1978 by renowned architect Charles Moore, The Piazza gained notoriety as a symbol of late Post-Modernism and is one of Moore’s best-known and influential works.

Today, it is a gathering place and popular symbol of community and architecture within the city.
