Ashley Mills serves as the Chief Marketing Officer for the Downtown Development District, bringing extensive experience in community and grassroots engagement to the District. In her role, she supports all of the District’s MarCom initiatives specializing in telling the story of Downtown New Orleans through a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy.
Prior to her current role, Ashley was the Marketing & Communications Manager at the DDD. Before joining the DDD, she spent over 20 years in the nonprofit sector in New Orleans, where she developed a broad range of skills in board and committee management, membership, partner engagement, and meeting and event planning. She also specializes in strategic planning and building holistic communication plans that enable agencies to maximize constituent involvement and coalition building.
Her volunteer leadership includes having served on the boards of the 610 Stompers, the Jr. Committee of the Women’s Opera Guild, Community Health Charities, and the Faubourg Delachaise Neighborhood Association.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys volunteering with local animal rescue organizations, exploring the vibrant New Orleans food scene, and using her creativity to make shoes to throw in the Krewe of Muses. She holds a BA in Speech Communications and a BS in Animal Systems, cum laude, from Louisiana State University – Baton Rouge.
