The DDD would like to welcome High Voltage Software to Downtown New Orleans. The Chicago-based company is expanding its operations to New Orleans and is one of the largest game developers in the world, with 95 video games titles including intellectual properties like Mortal Kombat, Levamp, Captain America and Sponge Bob SquarePants. High Voltage is expected to create 80 new direct jobs with annual salaries ranging from $50,000 to $120,000, plus benefits. CEO Kerry Ganofsky said the company originally considered setting up a new studio in Georgia or Florida, but decided New Orleans was a better fit culturally. The company is expected to open shop in January in Place St. Charles.
