Monday, February 16, The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk will celebrate its first “Lundi Gras on the Mississippi” since reopening last spring with a new twist to the annual celebration. The free public event is from 3:00pm to 8:00pm and will feature live music, fireworks, local food vendors and the official arrival of Rex, King of Carnival to the Mardi Gras festivities. Adding a dash of historical perspective this year, Rex, King of Carnival, and his entourage will arrive at Spanish Plaza aboard an elegantly decorated vintage railroad cars.
