In an effort to increase participation in the curbside recycling program, the City of New Orleans has announced that citizens in Downtown New Orleans can now call 311 to request delivery of the blue recycling bins if their property is eligible for collection by the City.
Earlier this year, Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced the return of curbside recycling as a City service in the French Quarter and the Central Business District. Collection of recyclable materials take place every Tuesday morning by Progressive Waste Solutions.
