MAYOR LANDRIEU AND THE NEW ORLEANS BUSINESS ALLIANCE CONGRATULATE NORDSTROM RACK, THE HOWARD HUGHES CORPORATION AND THE OUTLET COLLECTION AT RIVERWALK ON NEW STORE ANNOUNCEMENT

New Orleans, La. – New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and the New Orleans Business Alliance issue the following statements to congratulate Nordstrom Rack, The Howard Hughes Corporation and The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk on Nordstrom Rack’s entry into New Orleans:

“Today’s announcement of Nordstrom Rack to open at The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk is another big win for our city,” New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu said. “As the nation’s first downtown outlet center, the new Riverwalk has seen tremendous success since it reopened in 2014 and Nordstrom Rack perfectly complements its other retail offerings. We are showing the world that New Orleans can support and sustain nationally recognized retailers. Together with the New Orleans Business Alliance, we’ve put a focus on attracting new retail to our city and this announcement is another sign that our plan is working.”

“Nordstrom has been among the national brands most requested by local residents,” said Brenda Canada, NOLABA director of retail development. “We’ve been working with Nordstrom for several years while they searched for the ideal site in New Orleans. When the anchor location in Riverwalk became available, I believed it would be perfect for Nordstrom Rack. It’s very exciting to see this project come to fruition.”
