The State Palace Theatre on Canal Street has been purchased by New Orleans developer Gregor Fox who plans to renovate both the interior and exterior of the historic building and put the property back into commercial use. Fox says he wants the space to contribute to the city’s arts community and is excited about the redevelopment.
The sale comes on the heels of a revival beginning at the Orpheum Theater, part of a budding Downtown theater district that includes the reopening of the Saenger and Joy venues.
