Shantel started with the DDD in 2012 as a Public Safety Ranger and was quickly promoted to Receptionist in 2013. With Shantel’s hard work ethic continuing to showcase her skills; she has since been promoted to Administrative Assistant. Her importance to the DDD starts with providing a smile and warm welcome to every person she encounters along with providing office support services to the CEO, Directors and other professionals while ensuring efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.
After graduating from John McDonough Sr. High School, she went on to become a Deputy Sheriff for the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Department until her Hurricane Katrina departure. After returning to New Orleans, she went on to study Criminal Justice at ITT Technical Institute while working as a security officer for Harrah’s Casino-New Orleans before making the move to the DDD.
Shantel is a member of the National Honors Society, American Society of Administrative Professionals, International Downtown Association and the American Criminal Justice Association (Lambda Alpha Epsilon Chapter).
During her off time, Shantel can be found enjoying quality time with the loves of her life – her husband Jonathan Sr., their sons Jonathan Jr and Jourdan and Gizmo, the family dog.
