Ofc. Summer Turner has served with the NOPD for 16 years, and 9 years for the DDD Detail. Ofc. Turner is just 1 of 52 officers that work our scheduled 464 hours a week for the DDD. Aside from keeping our District safe, Ofc. Turner has also led a series of self-defense classes for DDD Public Safety Rangers just like other officers do in Verbal Judo, domestic violence and an upcoming Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training training to name a few.
DDD detail officers last month alone responded to 435 Ranger & self-initiated calls and removed and helped over 300 individuals sleeping on the streets with shelters, medical needs or other forms of assistance. Officers for the DDD can be found all over Downtown NOLA 24 hours a day in one of our marked DDD police cars, on foot or riding our newly acquired Segway.
